The SAVE Dade WOMEN'S Committee is dedicated to educating, motivating, and engaging women in order to mobilize and re-energize civic and social participation in Miami-Dade County. The Women’s Committee was created in 2009 as a subsidiary arm to SAVE Dade in order to support and serve LBT women by promoting the following initiatives:

  • Increase public interest in SAVE Dade's overall mission among women in Miami-Dade County
  • Educate women about their rights and responsibilities
  • Organize educational and social events with the community and local organizations
  • Raise awareness about issues that affect lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women in Miami-Dade County
  • Create alliances between women of local organizations and groups to serve the community at-large
  • Raise funds to support networking events and outreach activities developed by the WOMEN'S Committee
  • Promote women in the LGBT community and the community at-large by participating in speakers bureaus, SAVE Dade sponsored events, and other related organizational activities
  • Mentor new members by empowering them and provide tools, skills, and education
  • Become an open forum for our community where women can discuss issues they are facing and help find solutions
  • Develop long-term outreach strategies to sustain and grow membership
  • Assist SAVE Dade in lobbying for legislative improvements

SAVE Dade’s mission is to promote, protect and defend equality for people in Miami-Dade
County who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. The Women’s Committee will further
this mission by engaging women in Miami-Dade through its education, outreach, and social
empowerment initiatives.
