(Miami Beach, Florida) October 18, 2011— After a comprehensive endorsement process, the SAVE Dade Action PAC is proud to endorse Commissioner Marc Sarnoff for City of Miami Commission District 2.

As a long time supporter of LGBT equality, Commissioner Sarnoff leads all City of Miami elected officials with a 100% pro-equality voting record. Marc was awarded the SAVE Dade 2010 Champions of Equality Award for his sponsorship of the City’s historic domestic partnership ordinance, granting all unmarried city employees the right to offer their domestic partner health benefits.

“As the largest city in the County, the City of Miami is of particular importance to SAVE Dade’s legislative goals,” said CJ Ortuno executive director of the SAVE Dade Action PAC. “That’s why we continue to ensure that fair-minded pro-equality candidates are elected to office.”

The SAVE Dade Action PAC did interview challengers Kate Callahan, Donna Milo, and Michelle Niemeyer and all candidates expressed their support for the LGBT community.

SAVE Dade plans to assist Mr. Sarnoff campaign by targeting SAVE Dade voters throughout District 2. SAVE Dade Action PAC asks all of its City of Miami District 2 supporters to go out and vote for Marc Sarnoff for Commissioner on November 1, 2011.

SAVE Dade's mission is to promote, protect and defend equality for people in Miami-Dade County who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. Established in 1993, SAVE Dade accomplishes this mission through education initiatives, outreach, grassroots organizing, and advocacy. Starting with the landmark passage of Miami's Human Rights Ordinance in 1998 to recent enactments of domestic partner benefit policies, SAVE continues to lead the fight for LGBT equality in Miami-Dade County through grassroots action focused on civil rights, parental rights, and relationship recognition through political advocacy, community outreach, and candidate endorsements.
