All SAVE Dade Pro-Equality Endorsed Candidates Win in South Miami

A Valentine’s Day election brought victory yesterday to both of the pro-equality candidates endorsed by the SAVE Dade Action PAC.

Incumbent Mayor Philip Stoddard was re-elected with 57.5% of the vote and Josh Liebman was elected Commissioner in Group II with 52.9% of the vote. Both candidates were passionate in their support for LGBT equality and earned the endorsement of the SAVE Dade Action PAC after a questionnaire and in-person interview.

“This means we have two more years to do good things in the city,” Stoddard was quoted as saying in the Miami Herald

SAVE Dade is excited about the addition of even more elected officials that are supportive of its mission. “It makes a difference when we have people in office that are willing to make the changes we want,” said CJ Ortuño, Executive Director of SAVE Dade. “This is an important election year. We need to make our voices heard.”
