Juan Talavera (Chairperson, Board of Directors) Juan was elected chairperson of the board in June 2006. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker now working as a care manager for Jackson Memorial Mental Health Hospital . He previously served on the SAVE board from 1996 to 2002 and served as volunteer coordinator for the organization during the same period. He is a graduate of the Miami Fellows Initiative, a leadership development program. He has volunteered for multiple organizations and served on several boards and committees. Juan previously worked as a psychosocial counselor for Health Crisis Network, serving individuals and their families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. |

Judd Goldberg -
Judd is a partner at the law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham where he practices in the area of labor and employment. Judd has been a member of the Board since June 2005.

Elizabeth Regalado -
Liz's interest and expertise in social services planning and coordination evolved from her role as Assistant Director in the County Manager's Office of Homeless Coordinator, overseeing the countywide process of assessing and placing homeless individuals into the continuum of care and services. She has served in various capacities within county government, including the Census 2000 Outreach Campaign and has had oversight of programs providing a variety of services to individuals with HIV/AIDS, substance use and mental health disorders. Her interest is to ensure that social services are delivered in an integrated and comprehensive manner with emphasis on accountability and the impact these services have on the consumers.

Jeffrey Hecht- Jeff is a C.P.A. with more than twenty years experience in corporate financial accounting, control and treasury. He is currently the Vice President of Finance and Information Services at Fine Art Lamps, Inc. He spent most of his life in the New York area and moved to Miami Beach with his life partner in 2004. |

Andrew Friedman - Andrew is business development manager for an educational publishing
company.
Andrew has an undergraduate degree in sociology and a graduate degree in
law.
His travels for business take him throughout the state of Florida,
providing a great introduction to the many people and places of this varied
state. Andrew's outlook on life has been greatly shaped by his background in
sociology, especially his time spent working in conflict resolution in
Washington, D.C. This experience, along with a long, long employment record
dating to his first job at age 13, has helped create an ability to work and
relate to peoples from a wide-variety of backgrounds and outlooks.

Jorge Diaz Jorge is a member of several organizations, including, People For the American Way/Foundation, the Crohn's Foundation, and Hands on Miami . Jorge has been an active fundraiser for the Arts, as well as political and health-related groups and organizations including Care Resource, Crohn's Foundation, Leukemia Society, American Cancer Association and La Liga Contra el Cancer.
Jorge is currently the Senior Legal Coordinator for a national developer (Centres Inc.) representing clients such as Wal-Mart, Dollar General, Bridgestone/Firestone, Hertz, CVS and The Salvation Army. In his position, Jorge oversees the company's legal department concerning their real estate and corporate transactions in 12 states across the country. |

Heddy Pena (Executive Director)- Heddy Pena has served as the Executive Director of SAVE since September
2002. Heddy started her career at AT&T where she spent 19 years. Her last
position at AT&T was as Regional Director of International Public Affairs
for Central America and the Caribbean. After leaving AT&T in 1998, Heddy
went on to establish a recruiting firm, Pena, Torres and Associates. Heddy
has served as chairperson of ASPIRA of Florida, The National Association of
Women Business Owners, and as National President of the Hispanic Association
of AT&T Employees (HISPA). Heddy joined the board of SAVE in 1998 and went
on to co-chair the successful 2002 "No to Discrimination" Campaign to
protect the gay and lesbian community from discrimination in the areas of
employment, housing, public accommodations and finance. |

Patrick Baker -
Patrick Baker is a native Floridian and has been a part of the SAVE staff since June 2004. He is a hardworking comic book creator and nature lover. He goes by Pat' and was born in the year of the rooster.
